御在所沼・赤沼（五色沼）(Gozaisho Pond・Goshiki Pond (Aka-numa))

【ございしょぬま・あかぬま（ごしきぬま）】
御在所湿原を代表する沼。赤沼は水に含まれた酸化鉄で沼面の色が変化するため「五色沼」とも呼ばれ、冬でも凍りません。
光の加減で水面の輝きが変化する様子は非常に幻想的です。

This is Gozaisho Wetland's representative pond. Goshiki Pond means 'five colors' and was named as such because iron oxide contained in the water causes the surface of the pond to change color. It also does not freeze in winter. The changing light shining off the water's surface is extremely magical.
