野駄舘公園(Nodatate Park)

【のだたてこうえん】
八幡平の桜山に建つ数寄屋造風のお屋敷。
寄木村や田頭村に領地を有した盛岡藩家老中野氏舘ではなかったかと考えられています。
桜の古木が小山一面を覆い、春には地域随一の花見の名所としてにぎわいます。

This former residence in the 'sukiya' architectural style was built on a hill surrounded by cherry trees. It is thought to have been owned by Nakano, a top-ranking samurai of the Morioka domain which included the villages of Yoriki and Dendo in its territory. The park is crowded in spring as it is well-known locally as a great place for cherry blossom viewing with the old cherry trees covering the face of the small hill.
